Google Toolbar Sidewiki Comment Feature: Can You Say "SPAM" And LOST PROFITS?

THIS IS URGENT INFO!!!

In case you haven't been getting the recent news, late last month, the "Big - G" went and released a new update to their toolbar, Sidewiki.

At first glance, this seemed to be a fairly useful tool for the public-at-large who are using the Google Toolbar. It gives them the ability to post comments, for all the world to see, on ANY WEBSITE or BLOG.

Similar to leaving comments on a blog site, this new sidewiki tool works pretty much the same, except, it enables the user to post comments to virtually ANY website or blog, WITHOUT the site owner being able to MODERATE or REMOVE any comments posted.

OK, so what's the big deal?

Well, if you're the one who's doing the posting, you can leave comments covering just about ANYTHING on the site you're visiting.

Want to praise the site?, well now you can leave your high praises to your heart's content!
Want to just say "Hi" to any subsequent visitors and tell them about your wonderful experience on the site your at... go ahead. Now you can just let all those "creative writing juices" flow at will.

"Not so bad", right?

Well, hold on a second!!! I'll bet you didn't know that there's a "DARK SIDE" to this new little gizmo, did you?

Try THIS on for size and see if a few ALARM BELLS don't go off.

You're a site owner...
You've spent countless hours putting up your site...
You've spent your hard earned cash to make sure that your site is operating profitably...
All your "SEO Ducks" are in a row...
All of your "PPC" campaigns are set to "Make Money", driving huge wads of traffic to your site...
You've got some terrific organic ranking on the search engines...
Everything is going "Letter Perfect"...

ALMOST...

Then, one fine, sunny day, you go and check your site statistics and here's what you find...

... literally overnight, your sales have totally DROPPED LIKE A ROCK!!!
... your site's ranking seems to have gone to the bottom of the charts!!!
... seems like you couldn't even GIVE your product away for FREE!!!
... WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED???

As any diligent business owner would do, you start investigating the situation to see what happened. Everything related to your site is set up to optimize everything that goes on behind the scenes, so you ask yourself, "What gives?"

Then, you take a look at your site, through the eyes of "The Google Toolbar Sidewiki".

"WHAT THE HECK IS THIS???" you say to yourself as you gaze upon something that wasn't there on your site before, for ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.

There's a COMMENT BOX on the left side of your site. That in, and of, itself seems innocuous enough, but contained in the comment is the following:

"If you have any desire to buy the type of product that this site sells, DON'T GET IT HERE. They have terrible customer service and they're WAY overpriced. Go to www.mysite.com and get the best customer service around at the best price on the web."

Ok, even if what's written there is TOTALLY UNTRUE, what do you do now? How are you going to do damage control?

You don't have the option to moderate or delete this kind of damaging comment.

You can't hide the comment box. Why? Because it's NOT actually a PART of YOUR SITE!!! It just shows up in front of anyone using the Google Toolbar Sidewiki when they land on your page.

Your sales have fallen off dramatically.

Your business's reputation has taken quite a hit, REGARDLESS of whether the accusations contained in the comment box are true or not.

Your traffic has dropped down to NIL, and, what little traffic you have left is being siphoned off to some other site!!!
And finally, your business may not EVER RECOVER!!!

All this just because somebody thought it would be fun to screw your business over for whatever reason.

OK, so NOW WHAT?

Well, here's something you CAN do...

Click that tiny link above, spend $27.00, and get THE SOLUTION to your problem.

How this thing works:

Place the code on your website or blog. It disables the Sidewiki from working on your site by any visitor using the Google Toolbar Sidewiki.

It allows your visitor to THINK that they're leaving a comment, but the only one who is going to see it is them. Once they leave your site, their comments go with them.

It apparently loads a "Sandbox Version" of your site to the user's browser. Your site is still FULLY INTERACTIVE and FUNCTIONAL for the visitor, so they can still navigate your site, as well as make purchases, if that's what your site does.

It just DISABLES the ability of your visitor to leave any comments on your site, thus, saving YOU the hassle and aggravation of needing to do damage control or losing sales due to an unscrupulous surfer with too much time on their hands.

Here's what some folks have to say about Sidewiki Blocker:

"Don't let Google hijack your site. Get this..."

I was/am a beta tester for this script and it's on most of my sites now. I don't have to worry about Sidewiki sabotage, spam or hijacking comments from my blogs anymore. This script is as easy to install as it gets and works .... what more could you want?

"It's a brilliant script, a great idea."

I've got this installed on nearly all my websites now.

It's a brilliant script, a great idea.

It's definitely worth it. Who would want your website - potentially your entire business - ruined due to spam/silly comments written on SideWiki?

I wouldn't, hence would recommend this tool to everyone.

"If you don't want people seeing comments which are untrue about you or your business, then you need this script."

I'm also a beta tester, and it is easy to use. Catalin has done a great job. It took me a couple of seconds to install it, and this is from someone who is non-techy.

It can be easily added to wordpress sites, very simple to do if you use xsitepro.

If you don't want people seeing comments which are untrue about you or your business, then you need this script.
